TOPIC: Downloading electronic data from heavy vehicles (CMVs)

LOCATION:  North Dakota Highway Patrol, 374 34th St So. Suite A, Fargo, ND

DATES:  Training will commence at 08:00 on October 9th and will conclude at 16:00 on October 11th

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This training is designed for those investigating crashes involving heavy vehicles.  Students who successfully complete the training will learn the accepted procedures for safely and correctly downloading data from various electronic control modules (ECM) installed on heavy trucks.  Students will get hands-on practice downloading the data and analyzing the information as it relates to a traffic collision under investigation.  This includes discussion of data limitations, anomalies, and accuracy.  Students will be instructed in the use of OEM software as well as the Synercon Technologies Forensic Link Adapter and TruckCRYPT.  Students will be provided with valuable course materials. 

REGISTRATION:  [Setting up registration now!] The cost is $365 for MATAI members and $395 for non-members.  We are extending member rates to IATAI members as well.  We are offering a $30 discount for those who register during the MATAI conference in Altoona, IA in June.  Please register before September 9, 2018.

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been set aside at the Kelly Inn, near the training facility.  4207 13th Ave SW, Fargo ND.  They have offered a conference rate of $74/ night.  Reservation can be made by calling 701-277-8821.  Mention the MATAI fall training to take advantage of this rate.  This offer expires on September 9th, so make your reservations early.  If you’d prefer to stay at a different hotel, there are many to choose from near the training facility.

MEALS:  No meals provided.   There are many restaurants near the training facility.   

PLEASE BRING:  A laptop computer and any equipment/ software you have for downloading heavy vehicle ECMs.  Additional equipment will be available, for those who don’t have it, to use during the practical exercises.
